Default headlight problem

Im having a problem with the headlight kill wire under the on off switch. It keeps coming off. Would it hurt anything if i just connected the 2 wires together so the light stays on when you hit the starter?

I'm not sure what year it started, but I thought around the 70s every bike made must have the headlights on at all times. So yeah, you should connect that so it is on at all times if I am understanding you correctly. When you turn the key to on, the light should turn on even if you dont start the bike.

The light switch is for high/low beams, not to turn the light on or off, if thats what you are thinking... Or are you talking about the ignition switch on the right side?

I think he means the ignition switch on the right. If you did that you would lose some cranking power to the starter at the very least...

thats what i was looking for. the wire has come off before but i fixed it. the other day it didn't come on i think because the starter switch was stuck down. that switch has been sticking lately so i should probably check that out.
