Default Head stock bearings

Hello,
I've been assured you are the best people in the world to help me with this problem..

I need to replace my head stock bearings on my CBR 600F Supersport.

I have no idea what the size is without stripping and taking to my local "Bearing guy"

I've also been informed that I should really replace with Needle roller bearings.

What's your advise?
What size do I get?
Who do you recommend to buy from?

I'm in Manchester.

Thank you in advance.

Eamonn

P.s. Attached a couple of pictures to show the beast.

A company called "All *****" makes a kit for our bike, it includes everything you need and is top notch quality.

I just installed this kit on my bike, not very expensive either.

I ordered the allsballs bearing kit for my 94, I think they were 34 or 35 bucks shipped. I found a guy in Tulsa here to install them for 130 bucks, so, not too bad....I'll post when I have them done. Apparently, at one time or another, someone used to wheelie my bike....well, that's what I've been told has caused my "notch" in my steering.....

Sharp bike....

Just an update, I had my steering bearings replaced last night/this morning, got the bike back over lunch....this is a night and day difference....of course, my old bearings were shot, the guy said when he got the front end apart, the bottom bearings fell right out....

Needless to say, it took me a few miles to get used to how it rides, but man, is it sweet.....feels like its floating now.....great to have the bike back and the steering is incredible....!

Allballs bearings, $35 bucks shipped, have them installed, $130 bucks.....having the bike feel like it did when new....priceless? Nah, about $165 bucks....

Here, I found one on ebay for you:

They also sell them at chaparral motorsports.

I had big problems with my steering bearings too, they had a "notch" in them and the handling was horrible. Like ppl said before after replacing them the difference was night and day. I ordered the OEM bearings from bikebandit.com but i really dont think it was necessary. They were probably double the price of the allballs ones and I cant imagine they are much better. Also if you can find someone with the right tools and a little bit of motorcycle knowledge you can do them yourself in around 3 hours. Good Luck
