Default Loose head bearings?

I have a 2002 cbr600F4i with 11k on it. When im riding i have noticed that my handle bars have a slight wobble or jiggle mostly noticeable when im coasting with the clutch in. I can just feel it as if the forks are moving slightly forward and back. Also when im going really slow and i lock of the front break i can feel the forks pop forward a bit. Same if i then roll it backwards and hit the front break, a little pop comes from the tripple tree area. I think its because the head bearings might not me tight enough or worn out. Does anyone know the best way to check or tighten the head bearings. Im not sure what tool one should use on the two disks with the notches in them right under the top fork clamp.

I've had a few bikes where the head bearings needed a slight adjustment only after a few 1000 clicks, another way to tell is you get a clicking sensation through the bars when you brake heavily, which is what I think you're talking about. If you have a center or race stand, then it's just a matter of lifting the front wheel & physically pushing & pulling the wheel & the you would feel that the bearing loose. Chances are you either have loose bearings (although if they really loose, sometimes dented) loose are an easy fix, but keep it in mind it is very easy to over tighten & put excessive weight on them & throw handling out the door. (Or maybe all you need do is check & tighten the bolts on the triple clamp). There is a special tool you need to adjust the head bearings, once upon a time the rear shock adjuster tool was one in the same thing. I have one I bought from a bike shop for about $10 (Aus).

Yeah it does do the shaking when breaking heavily. I suppose ill see if i can get the front wheel of the ground and try and shake it back and fourth. Then ill see if i can find my self one of these tools.
