Default Gas Leak

So here's the problem. I have gas leaking out of the bottom of that vaccum operated pump type deal thats bolted to the back of the gas valve on my tank. There's this little 'tit' on the bottom of it that the gas comes out of. it seems to stop if I shut the gas valve off. I'll try and attach a picture so I can point it out. Anyway, it did this awhile ago, I priced the part at the dealer ($41) and decided that I would try taking it apart myself first. I open it up and theres just a simple rubber diaphram in there that I take and clean with kerosene in my parts washer. Put it all back together and things work great. Now today it just started doing it again. So i was wondering if anyone else had experienced this problem and if they had a solution other than just going and buying a replacement part.
my bike is a 94 and has roughly 32,000 miles on it.

Is your petcock working itself loose from the tank?

as in, the large nut that attaches the whole operation to the tank? no, it just drips out of the base of the vaccum thing attached to the back of the petcock.

I had a question about that nipple myself the other week. I thought a hose was connected to it but never got an answer so I left it as is and it doesnt leak to this day. In the picture is my old petcock which was leaking from the back side (where it is pressed together with two rivits) and was dripping off the bottom nipple... did a quick fix by pressing the rivits tighter with a vise. I just took apart old petcock (to much free time) and noticed the diaphram was curled on bottom edge. maybe fuel is leaking past yours the same way?
