does '93 honda cbr 600 f2 have a gas filter and what is its purpose.

 

It has a screen over the pickup inside the gas tank. Basically it keeps sediment and crap from entering your fuel lines,carbs, etc.

When I redid the tank on my current F2, I removed the screen entirely and put a hi capacity fuel filter inline to the carbs. Does the same thing more effectively.
