It so happens that they make the tank "cover" the same size as the actual tank. For you to use that you would have to some how adapt a gas container from another bike. Our gas tank for some reason is the TANK, when in most bikes, ive been told, it is just a cover.
That is why in most bikes the tank is $200 and for F2 is $1000.
I found out about this when I did my research to buy what you bought.
I ended out no buying them because of that so cant help you on how to adapt another bikes gas tank tho. But I do know that you will have to.

Atrom, just an FYI - the tank cover that I got with my Hong Kong fairing kit did fit, but at first I didn't think it was going to - it was very, very tight, and left some very slight markings on the tank when I finally ditched it - if you haven't tried it already, it might work with some careful stretching and plenty of loud cussing.
These kits are sooooooo inconsistent, from one set to the next, with my set, from one side to the next!
Though you can't see it in any of my bike photos, the front turn signal cut-out on the left side of the bike is nearly a perfect match to the signal housing, but the right side cut-out is too big, AND not shaped correctly revealing a lot of space around the signal lens/housing, if you were to look closely - thank goodness the ugly gaps are on the underside of the signal!

Thanks for the responses.
I will just end up painting my tank to match my fairing theme. Might even get it professionally done since I can never get anything to my satisfaction with a rattle can.
Also I will have to post up pictures of my "new" f3 repsol
