Tank Cover (yes or no)

Of course a bike/tank looks better with no cover!!!
A cover is not meant to make the bike look better, it is to protect the tank from scratches/dulling/clearcoat wearing out.
So the question isn't, "what looks better" but rather "am I better off risking my clearcoat (without a bra)" or "should I just go without?"
It is weird: automotive paint usually isn't meant to have a body laying on it, and I can't think of any place other than a motorcycle tank where a person would be on it and even rubbing it from shifting his weight on that surface again and again (as in leaning for turns).
There is no perfect answer, at least for my bike.
