F2 will not start :(
Okay so I am new to this forum and if I'm posting in the wrong section I'm sorry. Well the thing is yesterday my bike was running completely fine. My buddy and I decided that we would change the rear tire and did. Then, I went and took the bike for a quick spin around the neighborhood (probably a 10 minute ride at most). I did not gun it just simply cruised around and it did not choke or run funny. When I got back to my house I parked the bike and turned it off. ( I closed gas so it would not flood and let it run for about a minute before I turned the engine off). This being said, I tried to start the bike up, maybe a hour later, and it wouldn't start. The engine was getting fuel and I did not give it throttle because i didn't want to flood it. The bike turned over, but did not start. It also did not backfire. After trying for about a hour I gave up and decided to take the gas tank off and get to the carbs. Once I did this i sprayed some starting fluid and tried to start it. Still no luck what so ever (no backfire, no starting and dieing). The battery is charged because I kept recharging it and the battery is brand new. I also cleaned the spark plugs an checked for a spark. (all of the 4 spark plugs have spark and are clean). I tried to start her up today and still no luck. Any ideas what is possibly wrong and how to fix it? Your comments are greatly appreciated and I tried to get as descriptive as possible to get us on the same page. Thank You.
Have you tried toggling the kill switch on and off several times? The kill switches are somewhat known for being touchy sometimes, due to water corroding the wires inside, requiring the contacts to be cleaned and/or re-soldered. It took 20,000 miles for it to finally happen to me, but after disassembling the switch, cleaning the ends, and adding a dab of solder, it's was back to operating properly.
Ok, so you were working on the back tire, took it for a short ride and won't start. I got money on the vacuum-line from the gas tank got pinched with the install. Take a look on the vacuum line is the thin wire that hangs from gas tank goes down near the rear shock and hangs there by the swing arm. Pinch this line anywhere and there will only be about 15 minutes or less fuel to run. Doesn't matter how many times you turn it over, fuel cannot be sucked into the carbs if that tiny useless line is pinched. Always follow this line from top to bottom with a flashlight whenever installing the gastank, it is an easy mistake.
I bought an F3 yesterday started and ran perfect. Today it will not start I used starting fluid and cant even get a sputter I have spark, compression, air , but plugs are dry. I started it and rode it off the trailer into the garage. Any ideas? Thanks
