Default F2 Swingarm query

Hi all,

Yet another question I have took my swingarm out of my 1993 CBR600 (F2)to refurb it as it looks like it spend some of its time submerged in the sea and is full of rust, some of the metal brackets for the hugger are crushed and there are a number of screws that are siezed so I'll probably get another swimgarm from a breakers.

My question is can I fit a swingarm from the later F3 model?

Cheers for any advice

I'd hold out for more knowledgeable responses, but I'm reasonably sure you can, but it will require some fabrication. Probably will have to make some shims to align it properly. I suspect you'll need the rear shock off of a 94 F2 or an F3 as well as the rear wheel off of an F3 if you intend to use the F3 swingarm.

Just looked at Ron Ayers microfisches and the F2 and F3 swingarms have the same part no. so it looks to be a straight swap,I already have an F3 shock to go in, I know thats a straight swap for an F2.

are you sure? from other posts on this forum, the swingarms are NOT interchangeable. They show different part numbers when i looked them up just now.

probably depends on what year you're lookin at. the 95-96 F3's are quite similar to the F2 but the 97-98's are different.

May I ask where you found this info? Looking for specs on that swingarm myself, ie total length, pivot shaft width, etc.
