Default F2 Specific Questions

At what Temp does your fan come on?
Is it noticable when it does come on?
What is the average running temp on your bike on a typical afternoon ride?

I have never noticed my fan on...that's not to say it is or isn't....but on my truck when the fan comes on you can stand 100 yards away and hear it running...how loud is yours? will you hear it running if you're sitting still and the fan is on or will it be to quiet? Also i switched my guages over to temp settings so i could watch my engine temp so i could get an idea what running temp is before i ride 10-12 hours tomorrow...after resting a while it was around 158...when i was riding it was between 165-175.....is this average...hot....cold...

Temperature seems normal.

The fan is very quiet, you'll only hear it if you're not moving and you're consciousely listening for it.

It comes on when my tempneedle is around 1/2-3/4up the gauge.

Does anyone know if you can change the temperature that it turns on at?

I just got my bike last month. I had it running and I couldn't hear the fan running at all until i killed the engine. When i did that the temp gauge needle was at the half way mark on the guage.

I tought the fan came on much hotter than that.

FWIW, my guage comes on at 3/4 up the guage and shuts off at about half. You do not know it is running unless you are at a stop light and even then you need to listen carefully. As far as i know, mine has never come on while riding, only at lights when I stop and the bike is in traffic. Also, it does not come on unless the temps are above 70* outside, probably closer to 80.

At 45* mine will take probably 10-15 miles of riding before it gets to full temperature and stays there. I've had a fan problem since August when it kept blowing fuses. Never did put the replacement in and the temp guage hasn't hit over 1/2 since. Just too cold outside.
