Engine Noise . . .

Engine Noise . . .
I have a 1992 CBR600 and the bike runs great but when I get done riding and I go to start it up when it is still warn it makes a loud noise kind of like a really bad valve tap. The noise goes away within as soon as i start riding or if i rev the engine a little. It sounds like it is dry starting but im not sure. Has anyone had this problem before? Help make it go away.

RE: Engine Noise . . .
probably your cam chain tensioner if the rattle goes away after a few moments. It uses both a spring and oil pressure to put tension on the camchain. I got a OEM Honda cam chain tensioner and put it on and it was perfect for about 250 miles, and now its doing what your talking about already. I will be buying a manual CCT soon before this one shafts me with noise again. I would try that first since its a much less expensive fix.

Yes indeed, as above it sounds like your CCT is on it's way out [:@]
It's no big deal to replace ,common problem with F2s by now with so many F2s still running all over the globe you'd have thought HONDA would have sorted this problem out (i know they fit manual ones to the later model)
