elevation
I want to ride my bike to high elevation. I live at 0 elevation the place I am going is 250 miles away to 7200ft elevation. It drops to 6200ft where I will be staying is for a weekend. I have never seen a bike on this particular road, that super fun in a car. Thats climbs about 2000 ft in an hour. Would I have to rejet my bikes to make it?
I live at 7,300' and have routinely round-tripped down to flatbush at 5,000'. The good folks at West Honda assure me that no modifications are indicated.I recently round-tripped to sea level and noticed no performance deviation from the CBR1000RR. I had a headache, though. Pax, G.
I bought my bike (07 CBR 600RR)here at Ft. Huachuca, AZ at 5000 ft. elevation. I have around Tucson at 2300 ft. I did not notice it behaving any differently, but I confess I was not doing any racing or stunts or anything. There are a lot of people here in the military that come here for a few months for training and they bring their bikes with them and they complain about a small loss of power.Yesterday I started in Sierra Vista (5000 ft) drove through Tucson (2300 ft) and rode Mount Lemmon (7000 ft). Performance was pretty consistent. However, at Mount Lemmon I was pretty much riding at 45mph or slower through 20-30 mph curves. Basically my story is that I haven't noticed anything with all the elevation changes in my area, but I only have 1400 miles on my bike and have not tried everything at every level yet.
ok so both resposes on this ost are from people that are riding on fuel injected bikes.. fi bikes can compensate easily for atmospheriric changes.. your carbs may not adjust so well. I would contack a honda dealer that is in a higher elevation and ask them if your carb'ed bike will be fine.
