Dead Battery!!(Rectifier?)
Hi all. I recently this year when I had my bike out a few time have ridden a few times for about an hour and have gotten a dead battery! I tried to jump start it but it would run for a little bit then die.
I have a very good charger and always keep it indoors in the winter and keep it on the charger off and on. I also had the rectifier replaced last year on the bike (and this brand new battery) because the bike basically killed the last one (the smell of sulfur, rotten eggs).
I am having a similar problem now, no smell of eggs, but I will have a full charge be able to ride for about a hour then dead (the battery is). Its is like the bike is not charging the battery at all. Actually that is what is happening.
Do you think this is a bad rectifier again? Or what else could possibly be wrong? Its a 92 cbr f2.
The rectifier looks pretty easy DIY too. Any ideas thanks!

Well, it very well could be that you got another bad R/R, but I surely hope not, as that would be some horrible luck! Is it another OEM R/R, or an aftermarket unit?
Anyway, I would check to make sure the stator is putting out a good charge, and check the R/R, using the routines in the service manual... if you don't have a manual, get one!!
In the meantime, here are the pages detailing the testing of these systems.
