Default The *CORRECT* gauge swap diagram F4i-F2

Okay so its mid winter. which means project time. So i bought the F4i front fairings, lights, ram covers, gauges, 600rr fairing, seats etc the whole works.

So i stripped the f2 fairings, bolted the f4i stay bracket on and began doing wiring for the f4i gauges.
There is a gentlemen on this forum by the name of Kpnupe who did a wiring write up. Other people followed it and it apparently worked. So i did the same and the only thing that worked was the blinkers and high beams. nothing would even light up. Looking at the diagram i saw the issue was multiple colors being used multiple times, ground wires being used for power wires... didnt quite make sense.

So i spent the time and compared wiring diagrams side by side from f4i cluster to the f2 wiring harness and formulated my own functioning conversion.

If you had issues wiring up from the other thread that people use, please follow this because it makes sense and it WORKS. idk how other people got it to work because it made very little sense. Maybe im just retarded

Follow this:

F2_________________________________F4i
Gr/blue------------Temp------------- Gr/blue
Black/Brown------Ignition (+)-------Black/Brown
Brown----------Backlight illum------Brown/white
Yellow/bl--------Side Stand------White/blue (light will be FI indicator light)
Yellow/green------Tach------------Yellow/green
Blue/red----------Oil light----------- Blue/red
Light blue---------Turn-R-----------Light blue
Orange------------Turn-L------------Orange
Dark blue--------High Beam----------Dark blue
Light green/red----Neutral--------Light green/red
Green/black-------Ground-------------Green
Wire to battery (+) for f4i cloc------Red/green

Other wires from the f4i are for speed, fuel level and such
*EVERY WIRE FROM F2 IS BEING USED*

Then people seem to do their own thing for speedo and correct temp reading. Refer to other threads for that. But this write up will at least get everything fuctioning.

I hope this maybe makes more sense from the dated write up. Everything works perfect for me. No trial and error, just traced diagrams. First turn of the key everything worked perfectly.

I will eventually be putting a DIY for the whole f4i/600rr conversion as well as the wiring for lights/ gauges and such.

Thanks for reading and sorry if it sounded like i was bashing... just frustrating when i get unusful information. Hopefully my time was time you wont have to waste

p.s. got alot of f2 body parts for sale

Doing the whole conversion. Just wired up an led taillight with integrated blinkers. That wiring was way easier haha

you will have better luck starting your own thread. This one is pretty old and the members who’ve posted on it are no longer active.
