Clutch Issue?

Clutch Issue?
I just bought a '94 F2, after cleaning the carbs and connecting the sensors to the right area the bike fires and runs great. Now the problem is the when shifting into gear I have to hold the shifter down to get into 1st and slowly release the clutch for it to hold in gear. This is the same for all the other gears. The guy said he put in a new clutch, but I'm woundering if he installed it correctly. Any insite?

RE: Clutch Issue?
To have to hold it in gear, it's possibly a bent shift fork.

RE: Clutch Issue?
From what I understand, one forkis for 1st and 2nd, one is for 3rd and 4th, and theremaining is for 5th and 6th - though for some reasonthatstill leaves park and reverse unaccounted for.
Mine, for example is dropping out of 1st and 2ndaround 5000 rpm. I can hold it in gear past 5K, but it will still eventually pop into neutral. Holds fine for all the other gearsright up the tach. So I *assume* that I'll only need to replace the shift fork that changes first and second. Still an engine out of frametype of job... it can wait.
