Default clutch issue

i have a 98 f3.
ever since i got it, the clutch would disengage very early/engage late. (pulling the lever 1/4 of the way in would disengage it.
made sure everything was adjusted correctly.
im using the proper oil
didnt change much.

so then i replaced the clutch discs, old ones were close to being out of spec.
replaced the springs as well
got everything back together and adjusted correctly. that helped, now pulling the lever about 1/2 way in disengages it.

with all that, it makes me think the clutch plates are a little thin.
my service manual doesnt give me a thickness spec for them like it did the disc's.
so does anyone know what the thickness range for those are?
or have any ideas as to something i may have overlooked?

thanks in advance.

The disc are steel so they most likely are not going to wear like the fiber disc they will however warp and they give a spec for that.
As far as what you want for clutch pull it is it what it is there is some adjustment but not much this is one of those things. Half way to the grip is good stress no more and ride.

You said you adjusted the barrel adjuster and the lock nuts at either end of the cable? on my F4 I can adjust all play out of my bike to the point where it wont fully engage all the way to where it wont dis-engage. Where do you want to dis /engage at?
