Default Chain Tension

Hi All

I have a manual for the F2 model but am missing the page that tells me the chain slack settings/measurements for the bike.
I have no sticker on swing arm either. Also should it be done on side stand etc.

help

I don't know the exact numbers for your bike, but a cbr900 can have 45mm of chain slack
Personally I think this can be used universally for almost all regular street bikes.

you are also better doing it on a padlock stand so you can spin the wheel and cheek the chain in different places

Spec for the F2 is 15-25 mm (5/8 - 1 inch).
Do not exceed 50mm or the chain can slap the swingarm.
Measurement should be done on a rear, center, or paddock stand.
Measurement should also be done in several places along the chain.

Loose is better than tight, I usually set mine about closer to 1 inch.

Hi Phil , thanks for the figs
When you say 15cm - 25cm i take it this is where you do the old sum of pushing chain up to swing arm & measure from swing arm down to chain & make note of the fig (A) & then pull chain down away from swing arm & take second measurement from swing arm down to chain (B)
Then B-A should = 15-25

would i be correct.
sorry to be a pain

Alan

PS - thanks for the other replies also. This info really does help

Not an artist, just good at grabbing stuff off the internet.

I'm hoping to dust off the my F2 later today and get the wheels turn for the start of another year. WOOT!
