Default tightening chain help

my chain is very loose, can someone tell me how to tighten it. also, when i am deccelerating in first or second gear, i hear a scraping type noise, this is because of the loose chain, right?

The easiest way to tighten the chain is to put it up on a rear stand. At the end of the swing arm are adjuster bolts, basically turn them from left to right to pull the tire back. there are marks on the swing arm, just make sure both sides are even. take the bike off of the stand to check the tension of the chain.

not sure what the noise could be, tighten the chain and see what happens after that.

i had a loose chain once that would do that the scraping noise in second or first so that is prolly it. and when you tighten it make sure you dont over tighten there should be aboud a 1/2 an inch in play in the chain, that is what i have been told by newmerous mechanics, 1/2 inch play on the bottom side to the swing arm hope that makes sence

Goes without saying but make sure you loosen your axle nut before trying to adjust the chain. Won't move to much if you don't.

Check your chain slack in multiple locations. It could be different in some spots depending if the chain is wore or sprockets.
