-1 means one tooth less on the front sprocket from factory. +2 means 2 teeth more than factory on the rearsprocket. I dont remember what factory sprockets are off the top of my head, but if you read through a few of the previous post here you can get the education you desire. Also a 520 conversion kit means a lighter chain than the factory chain. You drop ounces, butlose durability. Your decision. These kits are fairly inexspensive. Hope that helps. We are just teasing you a bit about the posts. Proof read before hitiing ok.[:-]

I believe 530 is OEM size. I would do that. I bought the 520 then read it would stretch...ALOT quickly. If you dont mind replacing the chain sooner than need be for a lighter chain then by all means go with the 520. If you want it to last a while and dont mind it weighing a pound more then get the size that should be on the bike and change the sprockets. I did the -1/+2. I would (if I had it to do over) go either -1 or +2 or 3, not both. The excelleration is awesome but I ride interstate a lot and I hate the rpms im pulling. I think I could still gain some acceleration with just -1 or +2 and not have the motor taching so high on the road. Dont get me wrong ... I can be doing like 75/80 and with a slight twist bust up to 90/120 no prob now no down shifting required. Great for getting around trucks or jackasses, but still pulling around 6.5 r's at 75. I would like to be around 5 / 5.5 r's at 75. I think I would still have plenty of punch from there.

Thats my experience. Thats also what I intend to do next chain swap. Take it for what its worth. It is by all means my own opinion and someone else here may like to ride different than me and want the -1/+2 setup. Its not bad, but nont great either. Lots of speed quick....lots of rpm's quick too.
