Plug Wires!?

Plug Wires!?
So i called Honda today to see about getting some new spark plugs and plug wires for the old beast because its running rough and it sounds terrible. I suspect a bad spark plug. but im not sure. it still runs and drives, but the power has been reduced to almost nothing, and it idles and revs wiht like a nasty poppy sound similar to how a car does when running on 3/4 spark plugs. anyway. M&M Honda wants $200 for plug wires[:@]and $10 per plug... advanced autoparts carries the plugs for my bike. but they are autolite cheapies. 1.68 per, and no other choices. Does this sound about right? i would like to do my tune-up today so i can get back to riding my bike the way it was... but if i have to i will order on-line to save myself some money... btw its a 1992 f2. any help with good reliable places to buy online would be nice if you know of any

RE: Plug Wires!?
Good job MikeZ.I buy plugs all the time at Advance.Ask for plugs for a 2000 CBR 929rr.I get a set of NGK iridiums for 29 dollars and change out the door.
Start with the small/easy stuff first.Pull the plugs.
Check your connections under the tank.Make sure the hot wires that go to the coils are fully connected.Sometimes they wiggle loose.
Holla back

RE: Plug Wires!?
Get NGK or Denso plugs. Don't get anything else, whether you get standard or premium plugs that doesn't matter for right now! And for spark plug wires they are I think standard 5mm wires, which you can get a cheap set for any car in that size. And how it connects to your spark plug caps you sorta pull it away as you unscrew it and reverse that to install on new one. To connect it to the coil..that depends...sometimes you have these caps that you unthread then you can remove the wire, others have these locking tabs that pierce the insulation and you have to remove it and then the wire. But don't speed too much for wires, Honda is being silly about that price...which means that they don't offer them separate and you have to order a new coil to get wires. I have some of this wire at work!! Bombardier makes some too...can look up wires for 1997 Sea Doo GTX that wire should work!
