cam chain tensioner
hey guys just gettin my bike on a 94 with 14000 miles on it, its just been serviced and is runnin great. i was just wounderin if the CCT should of been looked at/adjusted, its just theres a slight noise only apparent when i get of the gas and let the engine start breaking, kinda sounds like the disc on the pads as the space between the sound gets longer as i get slower, ie the wheels rotating fewer times. any help is greatly appreciated

RE: cam chain tensioner
Here is my experiance. My bike had a stock Honda tensioner on it when I bought it, and it was obviously going out, due to the slapping noise from the right side of the motor. I got a brand new OEM Honda tensioner and it was great for about 200 miles and boom, within 300 miles it was back at the same crap sound. It doesnt really hurt the motor to run it with the noise, but its more annoying than anything, and I cant stand my bike sounding like that. I then replaced it with a manual tensioner and its been great ever since, not a peep. If your getting that noise, definantly put a manual CCT on it, you wont be dissappointed. If you need help getting it adjusted right I can help you, just let me know.
