Don't screw the cap in. Just push it down until it hits the threads. You want the oil to be between the two lines. The lines are the high and low mark.

Hope that helps.

does any one have a picture of the dip stick. i'll try n get one as son as possible. because there are 2 lines, the bottom and the second, and i think there are 2 flat surfaces too. so between the 2 flat surfaces? between the first flat surface, or between the second flat surface. im just goin to go with 3.7 quarts which is about 3.5 liters.

It's a little under 4 quarts the capacity for your Honda. For info purposes a liter is equal to 1.5850323 quarts You measure your oil by standing the bike up so it is level, not on the kickstand and not on a swing arm stand, it has to be on the wheels and straight up like you were riding it. Unscrew the dip stick, wipe it clean, and then just place it back into the hole, do not screw it in. Pull it out, the oil should be between the two holes. It you have too much, just suck some out with a straw or something. Too much oil is not good.

The manual calls for 3.7 QUARTS if you do an oil change with the filter. But you should always let the bike heat up and check the level on your dipstick as previously stated.

went with 3.5L which is 3.7 qrts. still appears high on the dip stick. i dont have hole on the stick like some may.there is 1 line at the very tip of the bottom and a second line. the the cylindrical part.but there is a flat surface between the 1st n 2nd line and after the seond, there is stillsome more flat surface before the cylindrical part begins. in such a case i would assume the lower line is the low and the upper line is the right amount.but how could it be.i emptied all the old oil, so it should have been bone dry before i put the 3.7 qrts in. so y is it way above the mark? (ne one who can take a pic of their dipstick will be greatly appreciated. my phone has no cam.
