Question Bogging down, Advice?

Hey all I'm new here and am the happy owner of a new to me 92 cbr600. Shes only got 8000 miles on the clock and is pretty clean. The previous owner put new fairings on and tires and she rides real nice.
But...
There's always a but right?
When I hit around 4k and again at 8k she starts to skip and bog down a little. If I'm getting on it you'd never know but when I'm slowly accelerating it's pretty noticeable. I'm assuming this is carb related but not really sure what would cause it just at certain rpm's. Any thought would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Jeff

Only tbink I can see is that it has a K&N filter. Stock exhaust is pretty deep too so I'm thinking it could be hollowed out. I'll have to tear the carbs down to check the jetting.

hollowed out exhaust = fail... and the k&n filter is well it allows a lot a lot a lot of air in kinda to much, you're probably going to have to rejet the bike with whats going on

Yeah I'm figuring I'll have to rejet anyway as I plan to put a nicer looking exhaust on it this winter. I picked it up a couple weeks ago. It was running but lousy. I found the kid I bought it off of had the vent tubes pluged with screws. Pulled them out and she runs like a charm other than the bogging down.

Could scynchronization cause this problem as well?

With only 8k on the clock my guess would be dirty carbs, If they sit around the carbs tend to gum up & block jets etc. Give'em a good clean & see how it goes.

a lousy sync could screw em up but then it wouldnt even be a sync lol, give em a good clean like red said before with some carb cleaner and if that doesnt work atleast you know how to work on your bike then lol
