Default Battery or fouled plugs?

Ok, I'm a newb here, so please help me out. I have a '93 with 27000 miles on it. I just bought it on Friday. The guy I bought it from said the carbs were jetted so it's a little cold-natured. He told me to start it, I have to choke it all the way, roll the throttle a couple of times and hit the switch. He said usually it will take 2-3 times of doing this before the bike will stay running. Well, he was right until today. I couldn't get her to start today. I had it running for like 3 seconds, then it died. I kept trying, but with each try it sounded weaker and weaker... like it was trying to turn over, but just didn't have the juice. I took the battery out and put it on my auto charger at 2A. The meter was showing about 75% charge. Is this my problem, or did I foul the plugs?? PLEASE HELP I WANT TO GO RIDE SOOOOO BAD TODAY!!! I went to Honda and picked up a new batt just in case, but it has no charge at all so I'll see if the old one will work again. Oh, also I have no idea how old the used batt is... I never asked the guy when he last changed it. Thanks for any comments!

So what should I do? Let the bike sit and charge the battery? Is it like flooding a car motor? I mean, just leave it alone for awhile and try to start it later? Thanks for help in advance

Ok, I charged the batt and she started right up. I also went and bought a Clymer's manual, so my newb Q's will be at a minimum now (I hope)!

My bike is jetted too, and it is by no means cold-natured. Try this when you start it. Choke it all the way and leave the throttle alone, do not touch it, then hit the starter. Your bike should fire up. Once it starts still do not touch the throttle, listen for the rpms to go up, then move the lever up just a little until the rpms drop. Wait for them to go up again then remove the choke all together. Now give your bike some throttle, it should take it. My bike takes about 30 seconds to warm up enough to take a little throttle. But if I try to give it any gas while the choke is on, it will die and flood.

My experience has been not to touch the throttle in any way while trying to start both my CBR F2's.

You shouldn't have bought the bike unless it was sound, the guy who sold it you mite have had the same problem that you have now inherited,It sounds like it's been jetted up so the engine needs to be revved all the time like a tuned race bike, or it will die on you flooding up,
sorry fella really haven't given much to go on but I wouldn't have bought it

Truthfully, I'd have it jetted correctly by somebody who knows how. Half *** jetting leads to all kinds of ride-ability problems.
