'93 F2 Mods - Phase 2
Well, so much for the fairing kit I already ordered.
After going back and forth for several days with the sales/service staff, via email, due to them being on the other side of the world, and getting confirmation that they can and will make the set with the passenger grab bar holes in the tail fairing filled in, I order and pay for the set, and assume that at this point the fairings are being produced... wrong!!
I check my email this morning, and find that they will NOT indeed fill these holes, though they already agreed to do so.
This is VERY irritating, as my money is now in limbo, and overnight tonight, when they finally get my response, and cancel the order, it will probably take 4 to 5 days before my money is refunded, so, I'll have already lost 10 to 12 days, before ordering from someone who WILL fill the stinking holes... livid is an understatement.

On a positive note, I got some Duplicolor tire paint pens on Saturday, and added a little flair to the race bike, by putting yellow on the Dunlop logos on the slicks.
Honestly, the pen itself was pretty much useless, and I had to extract the paint, and use a separate brush to apply it, but it turned out great, nonetheless.

I wanted to get a decent looking picture for a BOTM contest on another site, so I threw the warmers on, so I could make a short jaunt to a park in my neighborhood, and scrub-in the slicks a wee bit on the way over... yes, that is correct... I took the race bike for a street ride!

The lighting was touch and go, due to the sun not being in the best place, so this is the best pic that came of that deal.

Sucks about the fairings man. On the other hand, you have more resolve then I cause as rural as it is around here, well, track bike would see many a blast down the country roads. Especially as beautiful as these last few weeks have been.
And as ^ said, you havea beautiful race bike

Anyway, since this tail is not going to be on the bike for very long anyway, I relented, and advised them to make and send them.
Oh, but sir, the bug had already bitten, and actually, I think "the bug" keeps a second home in my noggin, popping in and nibbling on my brain from time to time!!
Yes, it is still to be flipped, but the tail change was already laid out in my plan - you read about it already, but for a reminder of the details, check out post #389, on page 39.

So, it's time to start working on the damaged Two Brothers muffler, that at this point, is intended for the street rebuild, if I can get it looking good enough.

Drilled the rivets out and got it disassembled...

...and got the can marked for the cut.

More to come after tomorrow.
