try a RC51 throttle. poor man's quick turn upgrade for your bike.

i'd also keep an eye out for radial R6 front master cylinder '08 and newer. brembo made them. very good.

i could probably part with the M4 header. the titanium yosh system in unobtainable. don't know if i'll ever sell it.

The answer to your question is in the thread! Go to the first few pages, and look for where I posted about the fender eliminator kit - it's manufactured by Competition Werkes.

Yeah, I've heard that the RC51 throttle tube pulls more throttle with less twist - I'm really smooth with my throttle, though, and in tune with it's current "twist to gas" ratio, so, I'm not sure if I want to change it - I've thought about it though.

I've also found a "multi-platform" application, Brembo race radial master cylinder...VERY PRICEY!!!

being on a racetrack with a F2/3 sucks if you don't have a quick turn throttle. smooth isn't the issue. way too much arm/wrist movement with the stock one. besides, the bike doesn't make so much power that a quick turn is going to make it jumpy.

put it this way, i'd much rather have bone stock F2/3 with a quick turn throttle than one that had a superbike motor and regular throttle.

the stock one makes you feel like you did when you were riding your bike as a kid and you were pretending you were on a motorcycle and you were twisting your grip till your right elbow was touching your knee

You're probably right, I guess I'm just used to it - it does require a lot of movement, that's for sure.
Now I'm not totally inclined to agree on it not being potentially "jumpy" - my bike's throttle response is VERY good, and whether or not a sudden input makes it really jumpy or not, really depends on the gear/RPM you're running. I don't know if my bike has more power than what you rode before or not, I wouldn't think so, necessarily, but I've most assuredly had moments when an unexpected throttle input, usually due to a road hazard, while leaned, has got me squirrly and changed my trajectory! My point is, I keep the revs up pretty good, not ridiculously high, but where I'm operating in the powerband, and smoothness counts, or it can get twitchy.
So on the subject of the RC51 throttle tube... is it a direct swap, then? Or will it require modification of some sort? If I did decide to do it, I'd need to get it installed relatively soon, so I'd have time to acclimate to the change - this would affect my blips and everything, which I have down to a science on this bike!

Default F3 Rim on the way!

Many thanks to user bobjoe, on Fireblades.org, who made me a VERY good deal on a black F3 rim, which looks very good!
It will include the bearings and spacers, which is good, since at least the right side will be required for the swap, as well as the cush drive rubber and sprocket carrier, which will allow me to have 1 alternate rear sprocket setup that I can change somewhat quickly.

My plan is to experiment with using a 170 tire with the F3 rim for my first excursion this season - I have heard from EQUALLY as many people, saying this is a must do, and it will work out great, as those who say it's a horrible idea, and it will never work, so, what else can I do but try it myself, and make up my own mind?
This definitely will open up my tire choices just a little bit more, as well.

I put a R6 throttle tube from Dennis Kirk on my F2. Had to modify it a little where the cables go in it to it. Basicly made it look the same as the F2 throttle tube with a dremel tool. I personaly think its a great modification.

Well, I'm plenty handy with my Dremel...what year of R6 throttle tube did you get?

They are made be Motion Pro, it didnt matter what year in the DK catalog, they were all the same part number for Yamaha anyway. On a side note I also put a R6 throttle tube on my 08 CBR 1000. Got it at the Yamaha dealer. I think its 07 or newer, its a little bigger/quicker than the DK part. $22 and it comes with the grip on it already. First ride with it on the big bike I wasnt ready, dam near threw myself off the bike. But I'm use to it now.lol

nobody makes a true race tire in 170.

here are the top choices for rear tires:
michelin power one (A or B compound) 160
bridgestone slick (3 diff compounds) 165
pirelli diablo superbike slick (2 compounds) 160

i've been on all of the above tires and have won several national championships on 2 of the 3. PM me for more info.d

do not run a 180. slower tire for sure.
