92 F2, Air valve??
Hi, So finnaly got my bike up and running, Has a slight hesitation going down road, 3800 to about 4800 RPM, Now, it has a supertrapp muffler, and k&n filter, Behind the air box there is two open lines, Looking in the parts fish, it calls it an air valve, Does anyone know what im looking/speakin of?? Had the carbs bowls off to check for dirt when i took it outa storage no water, dirt, or any buildups. the main jets were all the same, can remember what size though, they look stock, have the keihn stamp on them.... any help would be awesome.
Air cut off valve" helps with backfiring on decel. One of the lines should be a vacum and the other could possibly be a vent. The hesitation is most likely caused by improper jetting. How does it run on top end?
With the exhaust switch and the KN, you're getting a lot "free-er" airflow. This is approx. like too lean. Stock jets will simply not do. A dynojet or similar jet kit is going to be necessary. If you like faking it (like I do) you might just loosen out the idle screws. But it's a pathetic way of fixing the problem.
Yeah, so the jetkit will be the next thing on the list... im just gonna buy a duno jet, theres one kit that comes with a drill bit??? i think im all set on that... but the air valve? what you guys think? i mean the two big hoses are just hanging there doing nothing. anyone know why they may remove this? the bike is new to me buy the way.
polonius, Are those the screws, bottom of carb, tward engine, that are round and have a flat spot on them? if so how many turns would you start out, and i have the tool from my fourwheeler, so hopefully thats what may hold me over till i get some extra loot.
