ORIGINAL: plastikmelter
the tool compartment is in there with the battery. the guy you bought your bike from probably didnt have the tool bag anymore but most have a little bag that is kept in the battery compartment. ive always wondered how i was supossed to get to that compartment if i break down on the road as the tool to remove the seat would be kept in there. hmm.... o well

Ok so 2 questions: First, how do you get to those bolts with the seat on? Second, I believe the previous owner f--uo the seat so the clips are broken. Can it be fixed if they are not there? Where can I get a replacement seat? what am I looking at in the money department?

thats right you have to turn those plastic screw heads and then it should pop out of those rubber bushins. there is no truck on those bikes but you can order on for 90.00 i think the site is www.flashalert.com. it comes with a silanoid that will take the place of the bolts and you push a button to release. it looks pretty sweet I wanted to get one for mine, but I sold it. check it out

Nothing different than if your car got stollen with the reg papers in it. Registration papers mean jack squat without insurance and a title. Go to the DMV, report the bike as stolen (with the police too of course) and the license plates and registration automatically become invalid. No one can re register the bike without proof of sale and a title.
EDIT:
Registration is essentially just a piece of paper to verify the little '06 or '07 sticker you have on your plates actually belongs to you and that vehicle.

RE: 91 seat tue down?
I emailed the guy at FlashAlert asking about his trunk kit, here's their reply:
I'll be picking myself up one of the guys I think, the seat release part alone would be damn sweet to have. Kinda like that classic car with the hiddel door handles.
Spencer,
Thank you for your opinions on the website. The Trunk Kit is hard to photograph, because it is black on black, but here is a better explanation of the product (I hope) Right now, in order to remove your seat, you have to remove the side panels and the seat mounting bolts. Once you have the Trunk Kit installed you will turn your ignition key on, press a switch you have installed by the brake light, and you will be able to remove the seat from the top. The Trunk Kit includes everything for the quick release seat, which mounts up to existing bolt holes. The kit also has an added storage bin that goes in place of the owners manual tray. You cut the bottom of that tray out and put our bin in its place. The bin is 3" deep, 10" from front to back, and 7" across at the front which narrows to 5" towards the back. The bin is "T" shaped. If you have WordPerfect we can send you the instructions if you like, but it is a really large file. They are step by step picture instructions. I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions and have a great day!

RE: 91 seat tue down?
I got my bike about a month ago and it had one of those quick release kits installed. I had no idea that it wasn't stock. I also had a hell of a time getting my seat off before I realized how it worked (key must be turned ot ON). After hearing how you have to get your seat off w/out the kit, I would suggest that anyone who uses their underseat storage even a little bit get one, it's great.
