Winter projects
It took a bit of convincing to get it, they started by saying it would be $45 plus the int'l shipping (basically same price as buying another kit). After some further discussion, they are going to cover the shipping cost (they will send it ground though, however I am not in a rush for it)
I thought about making a how-to on the install, but it seems like it might be a real PITA to put in...

Compressing the spring is the hard part, and probably removing the clutch basket nut if you don't have an impact wrench too. Other than that it's not bad, but the new spring is so much stiffer it's extremely difficult to compress it and get it in place unless there is a trick that I wasn't aware of.
Still waiting on my detent arm from factory pro... been over 2 weeks. Even basic shipping should have got here by now...
On another front, I ordered a new set of rubbers for it. Conti Motion Sport Touring Radials (110/70ZR-17 and 150/70ZR-17)

Never had a set, and don't know of anyone who has had them on the F1, so we will see!

I know... Whats worse is the brakes I have ordered from trippmann are en route via UPS. Send from NJ, they arrived in Richmond, BC (about 50 mi north of here) to go through customs, then it sent back to the US (Spokane, near the Montana border)?! Talk about inefficient, as the only way to Victoria is on a ferry that leaves from just south of Richmond (not counting air freight, of course)
So about 5 days away from all of these projects coming to a head:
- Remove wheels, bring to tire shop to get the swap done (~3 hours)
- Replace brake rotors, pads (front and back), flush brake fluid (hopefully <2 hours... I will try to use a big syringe and bleed upwards I think. what size of vinyl tube is best for the bleed nipples?
- Drain the oil, replace filter, install shift kit (~2-3 hours)
- Fabricate up a way to better attach my fairings (currently using about 6-8 zip ties) how are the clam shells held together under the headers, or are they? (~1.5 hours)
Should be a full day of work, might spread it out over 2 though...

Sounds like you're going to have a sweet bike for this season with all the upgrades going into it. For the bleeder tube I have a piece of vacuum/windshield washer hose, it's either 3 or 4mm I believe & seals on the bleeder really well. I'm not sure how the factory fairings are held together, but on my aftermarket ones they have a tab on one side where I could install a bolt/nut to hold them together.
I had one side tear completely off and fly away on the highway once when I didn't have it attached at the bottom

All done! I'm surprised I got everything done actually. Typically projects get pushed back, but I fit it all in. Def took a lot longer than originally planned. The shift kit alone took probably 6 hours. Most of it was dicking about with some of the more difficult steps. Brakes were a bit tough too, as there was so much corrosion.
Today I tackled the fairings. It went together pretty much as expected. I'll get some pics up soon. Having stainless hardware is so much better than zip ties.
Finished it off with a wash, and a chain lube.
