It seems when I shift from first to second gear while revving it hard it won't go right into second but rather into neutral? The only way it works is if I shift really hard with my foot but it doesn't seem right? I just bought the bike and used Rotella synthetic 5W-40 diesel oil. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

 

did you test ride bike before buying it? how was it treated by previous owner?

why are you using diesel oil?

could be clutch cable adjustment. could be clutch plates, or at worst, shift dogs are worn.

 

because diesel oil has no moly in it and is rated for an Allison C4 tranny (wetclutch) used in bulldozers and backhoes. Alot of riders use it because its alot cheaper then JASo rated oil and performes just as well.
