So how do you know? LOL, hopefully I have better luck but I'll take a look at it right when I get it just in case. Thanks for the heads up. Did you end up ordering one through the dealer?

Here is a pic of the original size gasket (on top) vs. what PNM sent me ( bottom)

I ended up cleaning and reusing the old one, has held up so far.. I believe the gasket they sent could be for the 1000f Hurricane, but this is just a guess. hopefully you get the right part, but even when you look on their website you can see that their picture of an 87-90 VC gasket matches what they indeed did send me and not so much the OEM part.

Yeah, just double checked the part# on parts n more, it matches up with the part number at honda parts warehouse. Although at hpw they show unavailable to ship. Crossing my fingers they send me the right one, should be here later today.

Well the valve cover gasket showed up today, the v/c bolt grommets came in on friday. Finally took the v/c off and they actually matched up. I'm very pleased that they got my order right, because I really didn't want to mess around with trying to get the right part/refund. Well, now it's time to check valve clearances and clean out the tank. Still waiting on the carbs to come back, but hopefully I'll be riding again by the end of the week.

That's good to hear!
I'm so undecided about this company now. =/
On one hand I got screwed, but here you are with your nice new rubbery valve cover gasket. I will probably order from them in the future, but it will be awhile indeed...

Sidenote: The FSM only calls for the silicone on the halfmoons, but I found it way easier to apply a little all over. When you have it upside down it will like to fall out of the grooves, so you can use the silicone to act as a glue to keep in attached

Usually for stubborn gaskets that don't stay in place I'll put a little bit of 3M adhesive in the groove and put the gaskt in place and let it set up before trying to reinstall. As for silicone, I didn't see any on the mating surfaces when I took the old one off, but I'll probably put some at the corners of the half moons as that's usually the first place oil will likely leak.

On another note, to anyone that's had their v/c off before, what was the easiest way to remove/install? I took out the cooling fan and loosened up the radiator but it was still a pain to sneak it out. I really don't want to fully remove the radiator, but I'm thinking it might be easier with it out of the way.

Zachy, I know your reservations. We've all dealt with companies like that in the past, sometimes their good, sometimes they drop the ball. It's all luck of the draw. I just chose them because they were the first to show having the gasket I needed in stock at a reasonable price. Even with shipping I got my grommets and gasket for about $60 less than going through the dealership.

When I removed my valve cover the easiest way for me was to remove the whole front fairing and the whole radiator... A little tedious, but not hard by any means and it gave me alot of room to get the cover in and out of the frame
