Default tire size

allright guys i have a 1990 cbr6 f1. i have a 150/70/17 on the rear right now. i want to put a wider tire on there, either a 160/60 or a 170/60. i have about a 3/4 inch on each side right now with the 150. does anyone know if a 160 or 170 would fit, or how much wider is a 160/170 then a 150? thanks.

i have heard from people on here that 160 is the biggest you can go on the stock wheel, but you have to make surethe profile between front and back are the same so you dont change the stance of the bike.

Why? that is my quesiton. It isnt designed for a tire that wide, and when you DO squeeze one on, it will change the profile of the tire to a point where it wasnt designed to run. Why? I can haul *** on some "skinny" tired bikes. It's not going to make it handle any better and infact probably make it worse.
