Sticky throttle... (F2)
New Owner and rider here.
I dropped my bike at ~10mph and it landed on the right side. when i restarted it he bike immediately reved and I had to turn the throttle back to idle. I flicked the throttle a few times and noticed that it was very slow on the returm. What are the general reason this may happem? And what are some things i should try to help solve the problem? Also, where is the return spring located? On the throttle body? In the throttle handle?
My second qeustion is what are the adverse effects of laying you bike down (other then cosmetic and frame)? I see ads that saying that so-and-so bike has never been dropped. Why is this important?

You may have mucked up the bar end, like pushed it up against the grip. The return is on the carbs. Maybe bent the trottle cable routing. I'd start with the throttle grip.
As far as the saying, never been dropped or layed down. I don't know exactly, but I would say it is more cosmetic than anything. I mean, if a bike is dropped, it messes up the plastic in varying degrees, sometimes scratches up the exhaust, so forth, blah blah blah. I have only seen that terminology on e-bay to be honest with you.

Never been dropped is the same as an add for a car saying, "little old lady, only drvien to church and grocery store". That's what everyone likes to hear and most of the time it's BS. Never wreck, is a worlds apart from never been dropped. Wrecked can have lots of hidden damage that's easily coverd by new plastic. Dropped, is cosmetic, and for some design flaw... stator covers on most bikes, made a bent rear set of shift/break lever or any thing like this. Easy to fix, but they are saying they were very carfeful and never did anything to the bike.
I've dropped my 05 twice and don't expect it to be the last. It's not a bike that sits in a glass box only to be used in case of emergency or at times to impress someone. Know what I mean?

i would say drakito is right, prob bent the clip on. you may try removing the grip and sanding down or cleaning all the gunk that may be built up on the clipon itself. might help, might now, depends on how bent the bar is. i would recommend getting a new one anyway....but they can be pricey.
as far as never been down saying, its just one of those things where they want you to know the bike has not been abused or damaged. garage kept, adult owner, all those types of sayings to reassure you. when a bike goes down, it can damage much more than cosmetics, bend subframe, rearsets, brake levers, exhaust, etc. so if a bike has been down there is a chance that it has long lasting damage, that is why that is important.
my bike's subframe is ever so slightly crooked, making it hard to line stuff up at times. probably from the previous owner going down on it.
