Default sticky throttle

the throttle is real sticky. if you open it up and let the grip go it rolls back real real slow. i have cable lube and i put a bunch of drips on and it didnt seem to help. so i removed the tank, intake, filter, and lower plastic over the carbs and now the throttle cables are exposed just above the carbs, my question is what needs to be adjusted? the cables by the carbs or does it have to do with the nut and bolt up and the throttle tube? please help my bike is almost done this is one of my last problems im facing

i would get a prussure lube adapter and connect it to the bottem end of the cable and use the lube til it came out of the handlebar.

if i clean the cables real good and it still doesnt return like normal is there anything i can replace besides all new cables? what causes the throttle to return in the first place? is there a spring by the carbs?

make sure your grip isn't the cause! So many times i've seen grips starting to slide and rubbing up against the bar end or something else and that will cause the throttle to stick. Now you can adjust your cables and it doesn't matter about the pull cable that can be as tight you want, all that will do is keep your throttle come closing, but not affect the snap back when you release. But the closing cable if that is tight, it will make your throttle stick. make sure that there is play on that cable, by looking at the carbs when you have that part exposed. Oh yeah also glue, or grit from throttle tube to handle bar. Try those and see if any of them help you out. Good luck man

I have also seen the steering bar tube be bent slightly from being dropped and causing it stick a little.

The grip rubbing on the bar end can do it, as mentioned. Also, while recently replacing my throttle and choke cables, we noticed that if the top throttle cable is slightly angled where it is secured to the carbs it will cause the cable to not return to its native position. Its almost as if there is a kink in the cable if its angled incorrectlyl an ever so slight kink that is. Just make sure they snap back while the cables are not secured tightly, and then tighten and recheck to test if this could be the issue.
