I bought an 87 cbr 600 last year. It wouln't start. I replaced the battery,stator, regulator, plugs, and put in new gas. Still nothing. It turned out to be the neutral switch so I just unhooked it. It did good for about 3 months. No starting problems. But now it don't want to start sometimes. It will turn over but won't start.If it does start and you get to ride it and turn it off, it will turn over but won't start. Sometimes you can push start it when it acts up, but not all the time. When it acts up you can pull the plug wires and put a screwdriver in the plugwire and touch it to the frame and turn the motor over and move the screwdriver away from the frame a little and it will start. Have you guys got any ideal to whats wrong? I don't understand why it will start sometimes and not others! Please help!!!!

 

umm, maybe the coil packs since you replaced everything else. Especially since when you ground the plugs it works. It could also be a loose ground or other connection, or a corroded wire in the harness.
