Was that for the spring and detent arm or just the spring?

 

On their website you can only buy either the kit involving the shift star or the "other" one, so hopefully spring and detent arm......

 

is this something that should be installed before you start missing shifts if your always driving *****-out?

 

Ideally yes.. if you install it before the damage from missed shifts starts to occur then it will prevent said damage from ever happening. Mine was already starting to pop out/miss second when shifted hard when I bought it and since installing the kit it has never missed the shift since.. not even once.
