Shifting without clutch?

Shifting without clutch?
Hey guys! This is my first post, but I have read the forums alot and I have gotten alot of good information from it, so thanks to all who have contributed.
I purchased a 92' CBR600 F2 last week from a guy that works at my school (Texas Tech) for $1500. The bike is in excellent condition (never been dropped, etc.), and I have ridden it around town and it performs quite well, and I feel like it is the perfect 1st bike. $1500 is reasonable for an excellent condition bike, right? I took it into the shop just to make sure there was nothing to worry about on it and they did a full maintainence on it, finding the only thing wrong with it was the (cam chain?).
Anyhow, the real question is whether or not I will damage the bike by shifting up without using the clutch. I have read a post somewhere saying that it is perfectly fine, but I just want to make sure that it won't damage this particular bike. Thanks alot guys.
---I just now realized this is the wrong thread, but it should still probably pertain
