shifting without the clutch
I cant tell you why this happens, but i can tell you that if your rpms are right you can up shift and down shift almost any manual tranny. I had an crx when i was in high school and the clutch went out and i drove it around for a few weeks that way. On my 98 cbr 600 i almost never used the clutch to down shift.
your bike is designed to do this... ur bike will not be damaged if u perform the clutchless shifting correctly. The only reason u need ur clutch is to get in and out of nutral. As u ride (no matter what RPM u are in) place ur foot over the shifter and apply slight presure whether ud like to shift up or down, as u are applying slight presure with ur left foot, quckly roll ur throttle off.. as u do that ur bike will shift to the desired gear and as this happens u can quckly roll the throttle back on, if u get this down correclty u can shift quicker than if u were to use the clutch and u wont damage ur bike. GL!
what crap !!! since when did CBR's have a slipper clutch and the **** a slipper clutch has to do with clutch-less shifting ... the bike needs a bloody quick-shifter for that
in this case, however its just the gearbox that allows the rider to shift w/o clutch as long as he's not gassin' it

As far as I know, just to allow for quick downshifting without worrying about the back wheel locking up. I think theclutch gets engaged automatically if the revs are too high for the current gear, therefore preventing engine braking from locking up the back wheel? Could be wrong....
