Unhappy Rattling sound help!

Hi I am new here I thought this site could help me do some troubleshooting.
I bought a 90 cbr 600f with my life savings ($2000) and It seemed to make a quiet rattling noise at low rpm. The noise has gotten louder and it now sounds like a deisel engine. It still starts fine and seems to have power but I don't want to ride it again until i figure this noise out. I live in Banff and there is no mechanic for miles so i was hoping someone here could help me out. I could take a video and put it on Youtube and put the link on here if you think that would help. Thank you!

welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy your new bike.
the link doesn't come up, atleast not on my computer.
the noise you are describing is probably the Cam Chain Tensioner (CCT). its a pretty common problem for most CBR's. how serious or what other problems it will cause, i'm not sure. my bike makes the same noise, although it hasn't gotten any worse. above about 2500 rpm, it goes away on my bike. and it doesn't make the noise if the bike is fully warmed up. you could try replacing the CCT, they are easy to change. stock is a hydro mechanical, works off oil pressure. or you can get a strictly mechanical one that you will have to adjust the tension yourself.

I agree, sounds like the cct. do a search on cct and you will get a TON of info!
