Default possible vacuum problem

Hi all, have an 89 CBR600...ran great. Took it all the way apart and made a streetfighter out of it. Two years later it's up and running, but not well. Seems I have an issue with the slides not going all the way up, so I can only get about 45mph out of it. I can't seem to find any vacuum hose routing anywhere on this model CBR...but it has to be vacuum problem. Right?
Frustrating. Anyone with any advice would be appreciated.

There aren't any vacuum hoses.

Check 3 things -

Did you pull the carbs? if so, make sure they are pushed all the way back into the rubber manifolds

Did you take the carbs apart? - If so, check that you didn't pinch the rubber diaphrams in the top of the carbs (or ripped them)

If you don't have any fairings on it, then you are probably suffering from the turbulance/lean issue. Cover up the holes in your frame with masking tape. Take it for a ride. If it runs better than that is the problem.

Do a search on this site regarding fixes for the problem. It seems every person's bike responds a little different to this. You may have to try 2 or 3 different things before you find the fix that works for yours.

Default thanks

thanks for the advice. I'm going to go through the carbs again, and will try taping the holes also. I'll let you know how it goes.
