Oil Pump/General Parts Question?
Hi All! New member to the forum and not sure if this has been asked before.
I bought a wrecked 87' Hurricane 600 last year with the intention of restoring it to its original beauty. The engine in it was totally shot, so I've been looking around for parts. The pistons and rods I was able to get aftermarket and the local machine shop was able to polish the crank for me. Being that I am doing a rebuild, I thought it wise to replace the pumps that are in the bike as well. I'm having a really hard time finding a new oil pump and water pump for the bike? I was able to locate a new fuel pump through a Hong Kong seller on Ebay (not sure if it's any good or not?). Anybody know of aftermarket pumps for the Hurricane or if other model years will fit?

These are parts you're going to have a hard time finding new. They are out there, but you need to search. Not knowing your location, I found some parts in USA with basic search. You should get part numbers from Honda parts lists and do search in your area.
Oil pumps last a long time as long as the bike had oil in it. Consider they are bathed in oil their whole life, so wear is minimal. If there isn't any visable damage to the one you have I would not be afraid to use it.
Water pumps are little different because of duty cycle and seals. Most of the seals are available still.
Here are a couple of water pumps I found:
Honda 19200-MN4-010 WATER PUMP ASSY.
19200-MN4-010 WATER PUMP ASSY.
These are spendy parts new.
