Default RE: no spark

1988 hurricane(from manual)

Green/Red -12 supply to starter relay solenoid(allows starter to work at push of a button (not needed if bypassing))(helps to activate relay to send starter juice)(always on)
Yellow/Red (switch wire...runs fromand turns on +12 from push button switch on right handlbar to turn on bike (ie starter)then goes to 0 volts when button is released)(the wire feeding starter button is solid black+)(not needed if bypassing)
Red sends +12 to ignition switch and fuses panel (needed)
Red/White wire from alternator which supplies power after bike is running(needed)

To start bike with no starter relay...
Red from battery connects to small red, and red/white, and temporarly to large black wire that goes to starter that used to be on relay.(careful not to wax fuses!)also turn ignition switch to on!
Would be easier just to use relay and push button.

Default RE: no spark

no spark but starter works could be...
pulse generator, cdi(computer or spark unit), ignition coils(2),activated a safety(controlled by computer)(won't allow grounds to ignition coils)(let me know if you bypass this...)
CDI wires...
Lightgreen/Red-tells computer when in neutral via -12v
Yellow/Blue-one ignition coil ground (controlled by computer to fire plugs at right time via -12volts)(plugs #1 and #4 left to right when sitting on bike)
Blue/Yellow-(controlled by computer to fire plugs at right time via -12volts)(plugs #2 and #3 left to right when sitting on bike)
Black/White- +12volts to both ignition coils(always on)
Green- always grounded -12v
Green/White -tells computer when clutch is in use via -12

blue pulse generator one
blue/white pulse generator one
yellow pulse generator two
yellow/white pulse generator two

The pulse generators tell the computer where the pistons are so that it know when to fire the plugs. I don't now what type of signals or when... any info would be appreciated...also how to test these to see if they are good or bad when the starter turns but engine doesn't run. They are located on kickstand side of bike in engine compartment. Cover reveils them.

To test cdi:
turn key off
Ohm meter to white/yellow and blue wires at cdi
should read 450 to 550 ohms
otherwise bad...check pulse generators first

pulse generators:
ohm meter to white/yellow and yellow(#1pulse generator)
ohm meter to white/blue and blue(#2)
both should read 450 to 550 ohms, mine were 500 kohms...replaced!

ignitions coils tests:
ohm meter yellow/blue and black/white (#1 and #4)
ohm meter blue with yellow stripe and black with white stripe(#2 and #3)
readings should be 2.5 to 3.1 ohms each set
