new guy, performance question
Hi, I have an 88 that I picked up for my first bike. The bike runs and rides fine it just has a few problems. When the bike is under full throttle the motor will jerk between 8k-11k. It will stop accelerating then start again, this causes me and the bike to jerk forward and back as it does it. I plan on changing the plugs here soon, because it is the cheapest easiest possible thing in my eyes. Do I need to try to clean/replace the jets and sync the carbs. Just trying to see if any one else had the same problems.
2. I need a new right mirror and can't find one anywhere
3. My fan is not coming and I am guessing it is the thermo sensor. I took it out and cleaned it and that didn't fix it. I gounded out the wire that connects to it and the fan started spinning. Any ideas on an easy fix. A new one is 50 bucks.

RE: new guy, performance question
If it was a Carb issue it would have trouble with the choke. I would guess your plug wires more than your plugs. Most common sign of plug wires going bad is missing under load, at idle or light acceleration, issue will not surface, but under a firm acceleration will start stuttering. Thats my guess. But might as well change the plugs anyway.

RE: new guy, performance question
It sounds like your running out of fuel. I wonder if your fuel pump can't keep up, because of a blockage in the filter or plugged up carbs. Could be ignition too, so plugs would be a good place to start.
I wouldn't worry about the fan. It doesn't come on until it's 80+ degrees and your in stop and go traffic and/or lights. Mine comes on about 2/3 of the way into normal.
Nice paint, that's probably the best looking F1 I've seen!
