I like it except for the front fender -- looks like it belongs on a cruiser. Something more aggressive, but less gargantuan than the stocker would be a better fit imo.

 

that would be great, I have considered the airtech stuff as a down-the-road idea, just always unsure of the difficulty in mounting it up

 

Even though its early March, the weather is fantastic and I took the bike out both days this weekend and this is the end result of the project, I have to say cleaning the carbs and putting in a hiflofiltro air filter has really given the bike new life.

But it seems I have the upgrading bug and am already acquiring bits and pieces for next winter - although she won't be going back into the garage until someone prises her from my cold frostbitten fingers.

Also I do have one beforeish pic which was when I got the tank and front fender from the spray shop and tried them on for size.



And to show you what I was up against, here is one of the inspection panels after my attempts with a belt sander. Tip: do not use a belt sander even in desperation as you will probably need to resand and respray like I did. At my work we counted over 10 different layers in the end and that was just the inspection panel....
