I find that when my bike is warmed up and idling it makes a tick noise and the RPM drops then bounces back up. The tick is not constant but sporadic. Any idea what this may be?

 

soulds like your carbs need a cleaning and adjustment, and possibly a cct or clutch basket if the ticking is constant.

 

Fuel pump? Does this ticking occur simultaneouslywith the drop in RPMs?

It may be that you are having fuel delivery problems...if there is not enough fuel flowing into the fuel pump your RPMs drop and the fuel pump makes a loud rapid ticking noise...I'd suggest checking and replaqcing your fuel filter...its a pretty cheap fix if that is your problem
