here is where i am unsure of what i am going to do. i can order a new cap for $76 bucks, or, since F2 and F3 tanks fit, i could find another tank on ebay and then i would be able to use aftermarket gas caps as well. if i come across a good deal on ebay it may be worth it, but i have put about $150 into this f1 tank already though too. i will probably just end up ordering a new cap from honda.

Take a dremel and notch the spot where the cap needs to fit in, not hard and should work, just make sure and reseal (if you sealed your tank) that area after you are done.

can't you just put the cap on backwards so that the notches line up?

Don't mean to bring up an old thread but i find this info relevant. The MM5 part number that is listed is for cali spec bikes. From what i have gathered the other part number "mn4" is for everyone else.

Just had a rough time finding the info i needed in order to get a replacement cap for myself, hope this helps someone else so they dont go through the hassle of endless searching like i did.
