Default Fuel tank question...

I'm assuming it's made of stainless since i bought a magnetic tank bag and it didn't stick... i'm wondering if i can get an aluminum replacement so i can use a magnetic bag... i'm not a big fan of the strap version and i've already searched for an answer. i guess, does anybody make alum. tanks for an 05 600rr or not? and if so, where can i get one?

The RR "tank" is actually a tank cover and is made of plastic. Sorry you'd have to use straps or get a tail bag.

You can get the plastic cover off, and superglue small magnets, or little pieces of steel inside of it to give your magnetic bag a place to adhere to. I 've heard of people doing it with great results, and it will be one of my next mods, when I get my Joe Rocket Manta magnetic tank bag sometime next month.

awesome... my whole problem with the straps is that i plan to be using this bag often, but not using it just as often (i ride almost daily), and if i get one with straps, i don't want the straps to be hanging all over the place when the bag isn't on the bike... so the magnetic one really appealed to me and now i think you all have provided me an answer to my problem of having a (so far) useless tank bag.
