Just found this, it's been stood in a garage since 2018 it obviously needs work but the price is right so I'm going to look at it in the morning, the plastics are good its all there but needs a hell of a good clean and go through, your thoughts?
Sitting in the corner of a garage before I bought it.
Some plastic welding, Rustoleom rattle cans, battery, carbs rebuilt, new tires, etc.
As it sits today. I liked it better in the pic above, but a run in with a deer put me in an ambulance and the bike in naked mode. Runs and rides great, just lost all that cool 80's vibe it had going.
Getting happy with this one. Still needs new head bearings and a replacement rear calliper. And then the paint is quiet matched - no solid plans there yet.
The sun is out, we have Mardi Gras parades this weekend and I just gave my 88 Hurricane a bath after going for a ride. Now if only I can find the bottom front cowl decal somewhere and she will be back to almost new..
What size tires are those? I'm a fan of the Diablo Rosso tires and my '88 needs new shoes!

I don't remember this color scheme. I only remember RWB, white/silver, and red/black. What year and country? Did I just miss something? It looks great.
Been a while since this thread had any action. I'll change that. Pic of my 1988 Hurricane 600. I am the original owner. I haven't ridden it much in the last few years, so I did the following:
Drained fuel and replaced. Rebuilt all three calipers. New tires (main reason for not riding). New battery. She fired right up and I had forgotten how much fun these bikes are. I spend all my time on larger bikes now, so it was quite a change to get this thing out and have some fun. Not bad for a 35 year old.
I've spent quite a few years riding my Harleys while the only CBR I owned sat in the garage with carb issues (fought and fought, detailed elsewhere). I picked up an 88 and a 90 dirt cheap and with minimal work got them both running (also detailed elsewhere). I concur with your "forgot how much fun they are". I've had a blast riding both of them. A light bike with enough power and agility to do what you want is a ton of fun. That being said, I doubt I'd want to ride across the USA like I've done on my Harleys numerous times (300,000 miles combined on the two) but so happy to be having fun around the county.
