Default dont know what to do

Hey i just registered on this forum and am having trouble trying to figure out if i should get a 1990 f1. I currently have a 93 ninja puny *** 250 but it is in perfect condition. I know a guy who is willing to trade straight across for his 90 600f but it has been laid over, the tank is smashed in, missing fairing, missing mirror, ripped seat, but he says it ran perfect. I can fix anything wrong with it no problem but granted i am still a teenager, with a girlfriend, and many other expensive (fast) toys, it is hard to save for the things such as the fairing. What would you guys do?

Me? I would either keep the 250 ( puny my ***, they are still a gas to ride on) or sell it out right to get as much as possible for it and buy something that isnt beat to hell. It sounds like a lot of work to me. And when you're all done, you'll still have a 90 600F. I had an 88 Hurricane 600 and loved that bike, but it did not require any work to get it going, it was a nice bike. I'd save up buddy. You can sell your bike for around 2k. For 3k you can buy a nice used F2 or very nice used F1. That is just my opinion. I think you would be taking a step backwards. Even if you get good deals on E-Bay for the parts, it'll run you around 500 for all of it. Not worth it IMO to give up a perfect bike for one that needs THAT much work. Good luck.

The thing is, i want a bike with decent power and the 250 doesnt cut it for me. My buddy just got a 94 f2 and it screams and i love it but thats probably out of my budget. Thats why the f1 has my interest because it has more than double the horsepower of my 250, its not a question of if i can fix it but a question of if i can afford to do it and get it done soon. I need to finish getting my 86 corvette and 88 shelby dodge daytona going at the same time and i think you all know how it is once youve taken things apart and left them apart for some time then one day decide to jump on it again. I dont know this deal has really got me worked up and frustrated.

I would sell your wee bike and buy one that dont need so much worktanks can be expensive and so can seats and getting fairing might not be easy I picked up my 89 600fj for just over a grand i bet you could get one for close to that mine still pops at 135mph which is fast enough for me have fun looking and ride safe...............

Like I said, you can sel yours for around 1500 or so if it's perfect condition. It's just alot of work. What ever money you would spend to fix that bike, save that much and buy a better one.

Those are just a few I found in my area in less than 5 minutes that all require NO work or substantially less work than the Honda you are looking at. All look to be good buys and most are under 2k. Sell yours and save up man. The good buys are out there, you just have to have the money in hand and JUMP when it shows itself. Good luck.

i see alot of 900, 929 and 954RRs around here for around 2K, its wierd how many of them there are, as well as being cheaper than most F2 and F3s.
