Ok so a little update. The buzzing seems to be the windscreen. When you press in the screen near the bottom where it joins the fairing, and the buzzing stops. Now to figure out a way to stop it.

Lately I have had the problem where the bike starts and idles fine when cold, but when it gets hot, the idle drops to 800rpm or so, and will not fire sometimes (hard to explain, it will just stop, then start again). If you don't blip the throttle it may stall (had it happen a few times). I figured fouled plugs. I changed the plugs today (haven't done that yet). They certainly don't make it easy... Now I'm not good at reading plugs. I have taken a pic of what came out. To me, it looks good. But maybe there are some plug doctors that can give me a better idea of whats going on inside my engine. I sync'd the carbs as well. I haven't had a chance to tell if it really has made a difference tho.

I had a similar problem with the bike idling low and stalling out in hot weather, and I found that the wiring between the regulator and the stator had overheated and melted at the connector. The running voltage at the battery was dropping down under 10v at idle which apparently was causing ignition issues. I cut off the connector and burnt sections of wire and just soldered the wires together bypassing the connector itself.

Might not be your problem but definitely would take a look at that connector..

Ok I will check that next time I have it apart. So far so good though... Thanks for the tips.

It's sad that I have to do my 'fairings off' work so that I do a bunch of things at once. Nearly all the clips and fasteners are broken on this bike, so its such a grind dealing with it. I think a weekend, some epoxy and a bunch of hardware is in order.
